2021 sessions

Took a bit of downtime to get the hang of the new kit. Loads of different ideas which have been assembled using different workflows. I did a bit of work using Electribe 2 and they took alot of effort to transfer out into the MPC. A.Lot. Of. Effort.

Main workflow will be live-ish using sequences driven by the MPC now, so these tracks can be revisited later if/when I feel like doing some composing and mastering.

The Lockdown Sessions

I recorded these during the COVID-19 lockdown period. Shortly after we dropped to level 3 I reached out to my local Music World store and grabbed a bunch of new kit. As I worked my way through figuring out how it all worked, it seemed a cool idea to record a few jams as I went. It’s a really fun way of working compared to sitting in front of a DAW doing everything with a mouse. Recording tracks gives me a chance to listen back an see how the ideas worked out. If anyone else likes them then that’s a bonus. I’ll draw a line under this collection when I’m free from self-isolation as the idea of recording an ‘album’ during lockdown seems fun – but I’ll probably keep doing this for a while.

My older stuff is uploaded to the old recordings page, apart from Distortion, inc which was such poor sound quality (recovered from 3rd/4th generation tapes) that I can’t bring myself to upload it.
